Premium Rate Services
Premium Rate Services (PRS) are provided by third-party providers and allow you to use your mobile phone or the internet for services such as:

Charity donations

Voting in competitions
-
TV competitions
-
Subscription services
Calls and texts to premium rate numbers usually cost more than standard calls or texts.
Premium voice services use these prefixes: 1512, 1513, 1515, 1516, 1517, 1518, 1520, 1530, 1540, 1550, 1560, 1570, 1580, 1590, 1598, 1599. Charges vary.
Premium SMS services (PSMS) use 5-digit short codes starting with 5 (e.g., 5XXXX).

Tesco Mobile can block texts from premium SMS numbers in the range 53XXX–57XXX.
Removing the Block

To remove the block, contact Customer Care via the My Tesco Mobile app or by calling 1903.

The request may take 3-5 working days to process.
Affected Services

53XXX: Newstalk comment lines, RTE voting lines, ParkingTag.ie, newspaper competitions.

57XXX: RTE competitions, The Late Late Show, subscription services, some TV charity services.
What Is Not Blocked?

50XXX: Free texts, typically for charity donations.

51XXX: Standard rate texts.

Voice premium rate services and spam texts or calls are not affected.
Example: Texting DONATE to 50300 lets you donate €4 to a charity and the donation amount will be clearly stated by the charity.
If You’re Already Subscribed
Before applying a block, unsubscribe from all active services:

Text STOP or STOP ALL to each premium service.

Once the block is active, you won’t receive subscription messages, but charges may continue from services you haven't unsubscribed from.

Call Me Service
The Call Me service lets you send a free text to any Irish mobile asking them to call you.
The recipient will receive a message saying: “353891234567 has requested you call them.”

- To check your main balance: Dial *100# and call.
- To check your remaining data: Dial *100*6# and call.
