Participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions (the "Terms and Conditions"). Any information or instructions published by the Promoter about the Promotion at form part of the Terms and Conditions.

The Promoter

  1. The Promoter is Samsung Electronics (UK) Limited, Samsung House, 2000 Hillswood Drive, Chertsey, Surrey, KT16 0RS (the "Promoter").

Promotion Period

  1. The Promotion will commence at 00:01 (BST) on the 8th June 2022 and close at 23:59 (BST) on the 12th July 2022 (the "Promotion Period").


  1. To be eligible to participate in the Promotion you must be a resident (aged 18+) ("Individual Participant") of either the United Kingdom (including Isle of Man and Channel Islands) or Republic of Ireland ("Territories") or a company registered in one of the same Territories ("Company Participant"). For the avoidance of doubt, within these Terms and Conditions the term ‘Participant’ shall be taken to refer to both Individual Participants and Company Participants (and the applicable plural) unless stated otherwise.
  2. Employees or agents of the Promoter that are involved in the operation of this Promotion or anyone professionally connected to this Promotion are not eligible to enter.
  3. Retailers, distributors, resellers and any person who purchases a Promotion Product (defined below) for resale or otherwise not as the user of the Promotion Product, may not participate in this Promotion and are specifically excluded as Participants. Any use of a staff discount on the purchase of a Promotion Product will render the purchase ineligible for the Promotion.


  1. Samsung is offering a promotion (the "Promotion") whereby Participants will be eligible to claim a corresponding reward as shown at Table 2 below (the "Reward") by redemption when they purchase a qualifying new (i.e. not second hand, refurbished or ex-display) Samsung Product ("Promotion Product") from a retailer listed in Table 1 (each a "Participating Retailer"), within the Promotion Period and subsequentially trade in an eligible device ("Trade-In Device") as defined in Condition 7 below subject to full compliance with these Promotion Terms and Conditions ("Promotion Terms"). Full details of the Promotion Products and the corresponding Rewards are set out in Table 1 below.

  1. Under the Promotion, the Trade-In Device does not need to be working and can be in any condition. It may be any mobile phone, tablet (including e-readers), laptop (including 2in1 devices), watch/smartwatch or buds/headphones (wired or wireless) made by any manufacturer, of any age and with any operating system installed, that meet the following criteria (Trade-In Criteria) depending on the type of Promotion Product purchased:

  1. Only devices that comply with the Trade-In Criteria are a "Trade-In Device" for the purposes of this Promotion. Please read the Trade-In Criteria in Table 3 carefully before sending in your Trade-In Device to ensure that it qualifies as in the correct category based on your purchased Promotion Product. In the event of failure to so qualify, you will not receive any Reward and your Trade-In Device will be recycled as scrap in an environmentally compliant manner.
  2. The Participant must be the legal owner of the Trade-In Device and is only eligible to ship one (1) Trade-In Device per Claim, subject to the maximum number of Claims per Participant in Condition 14 below. Trade-In Devices are not returnable and have a zero value. As a Participant shipping your Trade-In Device you acknowledge that the Reward payable to you in this Promotion does not correlate to the value of your Trade-In Device but is rather conditional on your purchase of a Promotion Product and completion of a valid Claim. As such, you will not be entitled to any further payment aside from said Reward, neither shall your delivery of a Trade-In Device to Samsung’s agent be grounds for any kind of VAT receipt or other tax or valuation document.
  3. In addition to the above, for every qualifying Trade-In Device submitted by a Participant as part of a valid Claim under this Promotion, Samsung shall arrange the planting of either:
    1. For UK Participants, one (1) tree within the United Kingdom and ten (10) trees in the rest of the world;
    2. For ROI Participants, eleven (11) trees in the world outside of the Republic of Ireland and United Kingdom.
  4. Purchases from auction websites (e.g. eBay) or from third party sellers on online retailers’ websites (e.g. Amazon Marketplace) and non-Samsung approved resellers (non-direct accounts) are specifically excluded from this Promotion.


  1. After purchasing a Promotion Product from a Participating Retailer during the Promotion Period, Participants must visit, complete the claim form with their name, contact information, address and any other requested information and submit it together with a scanned copy of their proof purchase (a "Claim").
  2. Claims may only be submitted within one (1) to thirty (30) days of the Participant’s purchase of the relevant Promotion Product (the "Claim Period"), meaning the final Claim date for Promotion Products purchased on the last day of the Promotion Period, 12th July 2022, is no later than 23:59 (BST) on the 11th August 2022. Claims received after the close of the Claim Period will not be eligible for a Reward. For the avoidance of doubt, the date of purchase shall count as day one (1).
  3. Participants are entitled to claim on a maximum of four (4) Promotion Products purchased per residential household (with a maximum of four (4) corresponding Claims and Trade-In Devices). Company Participants are entitled to claim on a maximum of ten (10) Promotion Products purchased per company (with a maximum of ten (10) corresponding Claims and Trade-In Devices).
  4. Participants will be sent an email to confirm their Claim has been received by the Promoter instantly upon entry of a Claim. Providing that the Claim is found to be valid in accordance with these Promotion Terms, Participants will be sent an email within seven (7) days to confirm whether their Claim has been received with completed information ("Provisional Approval") and should be validated pending receipt of the Trade-In Device meeting the Trade-In Criteria ("Validation").
  5. Upon Provisional Approval of their Claim, the Participant will receive a confirmation email within five (5) working days ("Approval Notification") followed by a package in the post including full instructions detailing how to return the Trade-In Device along with a pre-paid shipping label and a container for posting their Trade-In Device to the recycling agent of Samsung. It is the Participant’s responsibility to carefully pack their Trade-In Device in a secure manner, and to collect a proof of postage receipt from Royal Mail to be able to track delivery.
  6. Participants must ensure that they back up any photos, files and other data they have stored on the Trade-in Device and remove the SIM card and any memory cards before shipping the Trade-in Device. Before sending a Trade-in Device Participants must factory reset their device, to delete all data (including biometric data), unlink iCloud and any ensure that any passwords have been removed from the device. On receipt of the Trade-in Device, all data stored on it will be securely wiped and permanently and irretrievably destroyed. We are not able to recover any data from Trade-in Devices sent to us. Deletion of all data and information stored in any Trade-In Devices submitted by a Participant and/or other storage media is the Participant's absolute responsibility.
  7. Trade-in Devices must be packed individually, and each sent complete with the barcode(s) received within the Approval Notification. To remain eligible for the Reward, Participants must dispatch their Trade-In Device within fourteen (14) days of the date of the Approval Notification.
  8. At the point at which a Participant has shipped their Trade-In Device for the avoidance of doubt the Participant will no longer have any claim of ownership in the Trade-In Device.
  9. If any email acknowledgement described in these Promotion Terms has not been received, it is the Participant’s responsibility to contact the Promoter’s customer service team by email at or by phone 0330 054 5419 (UK) or +353 1800 851 229 (ROI) within seven (7) days of a Claim being submitted.
  10. If a Claim is deemed to have been submitted incorrectly, it will not receive Provisional Approval and the Participant will be notified via email and SMS and offered the opportunity to provide the required information within seven (7) days. If no response is received within seven (7) days of the email and SMS, then the Claim shall be marked as invalid and the Participant will no longer be eligible to receive the Reward.
  11. Claims that are incomplete or damaged (as appropriate) will be deemed invalid. No responsibility is accepted by the Promoter for lost, delayed or damaged Claims (e.g. where online data is not received or is corrupted). Claims that are incomplete or damaged will be deemed invalid. No responsibility is accepted by the Promoter for lost, delayed or damaged data which occurs during any communication or transmission of Claims.
  12. Provided that the Trade-In Device meets the Trade-In Criteria the Participant will receive confirmation of receipt via email starting that the Claim has been successful and confirmed as validated ("Claim Validation"). The Reward will be sent via bank transfer in GBP/EUR within forty-five (45) days of Claim Validation to the bank account provided by the Participant during the Claim process.
  13. Where the Trade-In Device is not eligible under the Trade-In Criteria, The Promoter shall notify the Participant of any such rejection within 10 days of receipt of the Trade-In Device asking the Participant whether they would like to have their Trade-In Device returned to them free of charge or alternatively recycled free of charge. In the event the Participant does not respond to that request within 7 days the Trade-In Device will be recycled as scrap.
  14. The Promoter reserves the right at its absolute discretion to disqualify Claims which it considers do not comply with these Promotion Terms.
  15. The Promoter shall have the right, where necessary, to undertake all such action as is reasonable to protect itself against fraudulent or invalid Claims including, without limitation, to require further verification as to proof of purchase, as well as the identity, age and other relevant details of a Participant.
  16. If a Participant returns or cancels the delivery of a Promotion Product before submitting a Claim, the Participant must not make a Claim. If a Participant returns or cancels the delivery of a Promotion Product after submitting a Claim, the Claim will be invalid and the Participant must cancel the Claim immediately by emailing or by calling telephone 0330 054 5419 (UK) or +353 1800 851 229 (ROI). The Promoter reserves the right to check with Participating Retailers whether a Promotion Product has been returned or the order cancelled and by submitting a Claim the Participant provides consent to the Promoter to do so.

Privacy and Data Protection

  1. The Promoter’s use of any personal information submitted by the Participant shall be limited to communications about the Promotion and for managing the redemption process. The Participant hereby consents to its personal information being used for this purpose and confirms that it agrees with the Promoter’s privacy policy available at: The Participant may withdraw consent to such use of personal information by writing to the Promoter or by using the opt-out process outlined in the Promoter’s privacy policy.
  2. Other than as set out in these Terms and Conditions, the details and information provided by the Participant when entering the Promotion or claiming the Reward will not be used for any other purpose, nor shall they be passed to any third party.


  1. The Promoter shall not be liable for any interruption to the Promotion whether due to force majeure or other factors beyond the Promoter’s control.
  2. The Promoter reserves the right, acting reasonably and in accordance with all relevant legislation and codes of practice, to vary the Terms and Conditions of the Promotion.
  3. The Promoter will not be responsible or liable for: (a) any failure to receive submissions due to transmission failures and other conditions beyond its reasonable control; (b) any late, lost, misrouted, or damaged transmissions or Claims; (c) any computer or communications related malfunctions or failures; (d) any disruptions, losses or damages caused by events beyond the control of the Promoter; or (e) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Promotion.
  4. Participants will be solely responsible for any and all applicable taxes and any other relevant costs or expenses which are not stated in these Promotion Terms as being included.
  5. By participating in this Promotion, you agree, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable laws, to release and hold the Promoter harmless from any and all liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising from participation in or in connection with the Promotion, including without limitation, awarding, acceptance, receipt, possession, use and/or misuse of the Reward. The above limitation of liability shall not apply to liability arising from fraud (including fraudulent misrepresentation), death or personal injury caused as a result of Promoter’s negligence.
  6. The Promotion is governed by the law of England and Wales.
