Ireland’s Biggest Family Festivals

Festivals for Families in Ireland

Ireland’s home to some pretty amazing family friendly festivals such as the annual Durrow Scarecrow Festival in Laois!

There’s quite a few family friendly festivals taking place over the coming few weeks, the very best of which we’ve included in this handy list.

Durrow Scarecrow Festival

The annual Durrow Scarecrow Festival returns to County Laois on Sunday, July 29th, and with it a whole host of fun events for all ages.

Live music, craft workshops, a country market and entertainment for kids and adults alike are what’s on offer, but the biggest draw will of course be the 300 plus scarecrow on display throughout the festival grounds.

The Durrow Scarecrow Festival runs until August 6th, and you can find out more details on the official website.

Spraoi International Street Arts Festival

This year’s Spraoi International Street Arts Festival is shaping up to be one of the best, with an exciting line-up of family friendly street performances, a parade plus theatre and music events set to take over Waterford City from Friday, August 5th, until Sunday, August 7th.

There’s also the festival’s official programme for children, the SprÓg Children’s Festival Programme, which features plenty of great activities for kids of all ages.

It’s guaranteed to be a great weekend for the entire family but please remember that as most events are free, pre-booking is strongly encouraged and can be done on the official festival website.
